But, with the addition of tar to the list of materials, the reading of the latest work slips into the inverse, a return to the earth, to darkness, the blackening of mould, an ancient peat bog which can preserve bodies while lending them the deep lustre of bronze, or a tar pit, the product of what was also once living matter.

the form gives the impression of fullness and weight but they are in reality thin walled shells, just the skin between interior and exterior
